Echoes I and II Descriptions

DESIGNING ECHOES I and II

I designed and stitched Echoes 1 about 16 or 17 years ago; it was the first time I adapted a Tudor design to my way of stitching.  I think it was about 10 years later that I stitched Echoes II. I remember the idea for Echoes II floated through my head one morning and I spent the day with pencil and sketch book.

THE MAIN DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO

Yes, visually they ar different: two Tudor Roses and a big beaded panel on Echoes I, one Tudor Rose and small York and Lancaster Roses on Echoes II.

The major difference between the two: Echoes 1 has little cutwork squares; Echoes II has fake cutwork squares (no cutting) but the instructions include the option of doing the cutwork.

If you have both, the fake cutwork from Echoes II will slot right into Echoes I.

SIZE OF THE DESIGNS

Each design is on 14" x 17" white congress cloth. The finished size of each is

12 3/4" x 9 3/8".

INSTRUCTIONS

The instructions for Echoes 1 are 50 pages long with 7 Oversize Graphs, plus a title page and a color photo of my finished sampler.

The instructions for Echoes II are 64 pages long with 4 Oversize Graphs, plus a title page and a color photo of my finished sampler.

THREADS AND BEADS

Echoes I uses Thread Gatherer overdyed red, several colors of Soie d'Alger silk, gold Kreinik braid and DMC Pearl cotton. The design has 6 small baggies of assorted beads and pearls.

Echoes II uses Thread Gatherer overdyed red, several colors of Soie d'Algr silk, gold Kreinik braid and DMC Pearl Cotton. The design has 5 small baggies of assorted beads and pearls.
